Results of Rational ClearQuest data code page selection
Assignment of the data code page value affects your databases in the following ways:
- Rational® ClearQuest® validates all data entry, including the data entered through the Rational ClearQuest Web client or the Rational ClearQuest E-Mail Reader. Data entered from integrations, such as the Rational ClearQuest integration with Rational ClearCase®, is also validated. If you set the Rational ClearQuest data code page value to one that does not match the local character set of the system on the integrated software is running, you might not be able to transfer integration-generated data into the database. See Rational ClearQuest integrations and data code pages.
- Rational ClearQuest does not validate the data in attachments (for example, in a Word document attached to a Rational ClearQuest record). To include characters that are excluded from the Rational ClearQuest data code page, you can enter them in an attachment. However, you cannot query for data stored in attachments, and reports and charts do not make use of this data.
