Overview of queries

Complete the exercises in this module to learn about using queries in the Rational® ClearQuest® Client.

The exercises in this module show you how to create and work with queries. Queries are the mechanism through which you search a Rational ClearQuest user database for change requests. When you create a query you specify the criteria for selecting change request records. For example, you might want a query to return all change requests assigned to you that are in an unresolved state. Rational ClearQuest displays the results of a Query Results View.

In this module you will perform the following query tasks:

  1. Create a query
    Learn how to create queries with the Query wizard.
  2. Run a query
    Learn how to run an existing query using the Rational ClearQuest Client.
  3. Set a query to run at startup
    Complete this exercise and learn how to set up queries that run whenever you log in to the user database.
  4. Edit a query
    This exercise shows you how to edit an existing query.
  5. Import and export a query
    Learn how to share queries with team members.
  6. Print the results of a query
    Complete this exercise to print the results of the NotClosedOrResolved query
