Enable your client to receive E-mail notifications

Your Rational® ClearQuest® administrator can configure Rational ClearQuest to send e-mail messages to users or user groups to notify them when someone has submitted or modified a change request. This feature is helpful because it immediately alerts you to action on change requests that interest you. You do not need to repeatedly check the status of change requests. For example, your administrator can configure Rational ClearQuest to send e-mail messages to members of the quality engineering team whenever a defect has been fixed. This notification alerts the quality engineering team to verify that the defect has been resolved successfully.

To configure your Rational ClearQuest client so that you receive e-mail notifications:
  1. In the client, click View > Change User Profile.
  2. In the User Profile window, enter your e-mail address in the E-mail field and click OK.
To configure your client to send e-mail notifications to team members when you submit or modify change requests:
  1. In the client, click View > E-mail Options. The E-mail Options wizard starts.
  2. Complete the pages of the wizard by entering information you receive from your administrator.
