Overview of packages
This module introduces the concept of packages. A package is a set of schema components that you can add to your schema to give it additional functionality. A package can include some or all of the following schema components:
- Record types
- Forms and form parts, such as tabs
- Field definitions and behaviors
- Hook code and global scripts
- Dynamic list names
- Schema validation tests
- Queries, charts, and reports
Rational® ClearQuest® provides two categories of packages:

For example, you can integrate Rational ClearQuest with Rational ClearCase® so that you can trace a change request to the set of files that a developer creates or modifies to resolve the change request.
- Nonintegration packages. These packages add a function that has been found useful by many customers, such as the ability to send an automatic e-mail notification to team members when a user submits, modifies, or transitions a change request.
