Overview of queries

The exercises in this module show you how to create and work with queries. Queries are the mechanism through which you search a Rational® ClearQuest® user database for change requests. When you create a query you specify the criteria for selecting change request records. For example, you might want a query to return all change requests assigned to you that are in an unresolved state. Rational ClearQuest displays the results of a query in a grid. When you create the query you identify which record fields should appear in the grid.

In this module you will perform the following query tasks:

  1. Create a query by using the Query wizard
  2. Create a query by using the Query editor and Display editor
  3. Run a query
  4. Set a query to run at startup
  5. Edit a query
  6. Import and export a query
  7. Print the results of a query
  8. Search for a specific change request
