Overview of forms and fields

Users submit and modify change requests by entering information in fields on the change request's record forms. A form consists of fields, controls, and tabs.

Each record type can have two forms: a record form, which is required, and a submit form, which is optional. When users submit change requests, Rational® ClearQuest® displays the submit form. When users view or work on existing change requests, Rational ClearQuest displays the record form. The purpose of the submit form is to let you use a different form, perhaps one with fewer fields, when users submit their change requests. If the record type does not have a submit form, Rational ClearQuest uses the record form when users submit change requests.
